It was a lot of work to design so I am selling it for a small fee in my Etsy shop. I searched for a fun wand permit printable for the party and could not find one. They started by filling out a wand permit, straight from the Ministry of Magic! While the wands were drying, I kept the kids preoccupied with various printables I had ready. While they dried we worked on some other wand activities! You can see they were quite clever and creative about it! I provided lots of different acrylic paints and paint brushes for the kids to use to decorate their wands. I then used hot glue to apply various designs to the rods, reminiscent of the ones used in the Harry Potter films.Īll in all, this was the most inexpensive part of the entire party!ĭowel rods are less than $1 each and the finials and dowel caps are not much more.Īnd, finally, hot glue is very inexpensive, though you will use a lot for the wand decorations. The other end I sanded smooth and rounded to get rid of the dowel rod look. Then I used hot glue to attach finials or dowel caps to one end. But since I used a stain it worked beautifully!Ī couple of weeks before the party I cut 3 ft dowel rods into 3 – 12 inch pieces. I’m afraid it would have bubbled up the paint. NOTE: If I had used regular acrylic paint or spray paint on the box I would NOT have ironed on vinyl. I found this one at Hobby Lobby half off (so only $5!) and stained it with blue Color Stain from Americana Decor.įor the signage, I cut the Ollivander’s logo from black flocked heat transfer vinyl ( affiliate links) on my Silhouette Cameo and ironed it on.
